TRAINING PROGRAM: THE COURSE 79 OF SKILLS IN COMMUNICATION WITH PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS (SESSION 4)
On September 27, 2026, the course 79 of the "Skills in Communication with people with hearing loss" successfully held its 4th session at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) under the theme "School."
The class has 30 participants from diverse age groups and professional backgrounds. Among them, 16 participants are currently working in fields such as education, healthcare, social work, and customer service. In addition, the class includes 14 students majoring in Psychology and Social Work, who are receiving full scholarships from CED.
During the session, participants explored and practiced vocabularies related to people in a school environment, such as teachers, students, and friend and along with familiar school supplies.
• Through observation, memorization, and hands-on practice, participants had the opportunity to apply new signs directly into communication.
• Guided by dedicated instruction, participants realized that a sign is much more than a simple hand movement; it requires precision in hand orientation, positioning, movement, and facial expressions to convey the message accurately.
At CED, every session is not only an opportunity to acquire new sign language knowledge but also a journey to nurture empathy, patience, and community connection.
Sign language is one of two themes in the training program on Skills in Communication with People with Hearing Loss (Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late-Deafened). The second theme is lip-reading.
