SKILLS FOR COMMUNICATION WITH PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS CLASS 72 – SESSION 1
On March 19, 2022, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) opening session - skills for communication with people with hearing loss for 47 participants, including 24 students majoring in, Social Work, Education, Nursery, Linguistics, Communication and Public Relations and 23 participants who work in areas of Education, Health Care, HR, Social Activities, Communication…
In the first session, participants learned about people with hearing loss, concepts on sign language and the Vietnamese Alphabet Signs, practicing introducing with Family Name and Given Name. Moreover, participants also learned making signs for following sentences:
- Who would like to pioneer practice?
- I spell one word, guess what it is.
- Thank you/sorry/no problem.
- See you next week!
- Enjoy your lunch!
Especially, participants were instructed about sign-thinking through the activity of guessing “what does this sign means?” and analysing how the sign is formed so.
Classes are held periodically on Sunday mornings.
Class 72 is the course in the framework of the project “A world without barriers for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing people, sponsored by the Impact Fund of the Australian Volunteer Program (AVP) and implemented by the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) in the year 2022-2023.
