PROJECT “LET PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS BE HEARD” - GENDER INTEGRATION TRAINING

On August 24 and 25, 2023, Representatives of CED's Project Management Board "Let people with hearing loss be heard" attended the training "Gender integrating in the project for awareness raising, legal consultation and support”, organized by JIFF/Oxfam in Dong Hoi, Quang Binh.

The purpose of the training was to help the Management Boards of projects funded by JIFF/Oxfam gain knowledge about the causes of gender issues, gender inequality and discrimination during project implementation, in order to have appropriate solutions to ensure gender equality in participating and benefiting from the project.

Some solutions to promote gender equality shared in the training were: ratio of men and women participating in the project; standards and specific conditions/priorities for men or women; awareness raising to reduce prejudice, discrimination, etc. In particular, increasibg "rights" for women, "Women's voices and opinions are heard" and "Women have the right to decide what things that are relevant to their own lives.”
