INCLUSIVE HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION AND CAREER GUIDANCE FOR DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING STUDENTS
Deaf and Hard of Hearing students graduating from specialized junior high school:
1. Should they attend an inclusive high school or a vocational school?
2. If they choose inclusive high school, how should they prepare?
These are some of the questions the Center for Research on Education for the Deaf (CED) received from parents this June.
Here are some insights from Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED:
- Ho Chi Minh City has the Polytechnic College and several vocational high schools that accept Deaf and Hard of Hearing students – where former CED students have graduated successfully.
- When Deaf and Hard of Hearing students attend inclusive schools, parents can connect the school with CED so that we can advise on how to support these students in inclusive learning.
- CED can provide 1-2 free sessions on "inclusive learning skills" and "how to use AI tutors" for a group of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students transitioning from specialized environments to inclusive education;
- CED can support the learning of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in inclusive secondary and high school.
The Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) always strives to be a bridge, accompanying parents in career counseling and guiding them towards suitable learning paths. We hope to work with parents and educational institutions to open the door to a bright future for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
With CED, "Everything is possible."
