ONLINE WORKHOP “POLICY RECOMMENDATION ON ISSUANCE HEALTH INSURANCE CARD FOR PEOPLE WITH LOW LEVEL OF DISABILITIES”
On July 16, 2021, Lawyer Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong and Ms. Trieu Thuy Mi, represented CED, attended the online workshop “Policy recommendation on issuance health insurance card for people with low level of disabilities”, organised by Disability Research & Capacity Development (DRD).
The workshop was in the framework of the project “Increasing legal support and rights protection for people with disabilities in labour, job, health care and education areas”, sponsored by EU through JIFF-Oxfam. The workshop content including:
Research results “The importance of health care for people with low level of disabilities”, case studies in HCMC and Quang Binh.
Difficulties, barriers in implementation of policy on health care for people with disabilities – Opportunities and challenges of electronic health insurance (VSSID).
Roles of communication about the importance of health care insurance for people with disabilities.
In the workshop, DRD recommended policy on issuance of free health care insurance cards for people with low level of disabilities, consulting on policy implementation of health care for people with disabilities in general and people with low level of disabilities in particular, according to the Law of People with Disabilities 2010 and Law of Health Care Insurance 2008, adjusted in 2014.
CED completely agreed with the policy recommendation on issuance 100% health insurance card for people with low level of disabilities. This is a very helpful and necessary recommendation for people with low level of disabilities in general and people with hard of hearing in particular.
