TRAINING PROGRAM: OPENING SESSION OF THE COURSE 78 ON SKILLS IN COMMUNICATION WITH PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS (SESSION 1)
On June 7, 2026, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) officially launched the 78th Course of the SKILLS IN COMMUNICATION WITH PEOPLE WITH HEARING LOSS, taught by Ms. Dương Phương Hạnh, Director of CED. The class includes 29 participants, consisting of 18 professionals working in fields such as education, healthcare, marketing, business, and tourism, along with 12 students.
In the first session, learners were introduced to: (1) An overview of the people with hearing loss, (2) The concept of sign language, (3) The Vietnamese sign language alphabet, (4) Basic greetings and how to introduce their full names. They also practiced sign language thinking through a fun activity: “Guess the Sign”, and analyzed how signs are formed.
Vietnamese Sign language is one of two themes in the training program on Skills in Communication with People with Hearing Loss (Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late Deafened). The second theme is lipsreading.
