TEACHING SPECIAL SUBJECT ON “LIP READING” AND CLASS CONCLUSION
On 04 April 2025, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) was invited to present the topic “Lip reading” for 16 students of the Bachelor of Speech Therapy training program, Faculty of Nursing - Medical Technology, Department of Rehabilitation, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City.
The presentation included the following contents:
- The concept of lip reading
- Practice teaching lip reading
- Factors affecting lip reading.
- Designing lessons for teaching lip reading.
Lip reading is one of two topics (Key Word Sign, Lipreading) that Ms Duong Phuong Hanh is invited to teach to students in this course.
Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) was honored to be invited to teach topics on Key Word Sign, Lipreading in the Speech Therapy training program of Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University from 2012 to 2015, HCMC University of Medicine and Pharmacy from 2020 to now, and Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy in 2020 and 2025. The program is sponsored by MCNV, TFA.
With the spirit of actively learning and participating in building lessons from students, Ms.Hanh has shared her dedication to students in both learning and working. CED also offered students the products which were researched and developed by CED, such as: Handbook to support people with hearing loss in Hospitals, Manual “Let Our voice resound”, in order to effectively support people with hearing loss.
