STEM SESSION – MAKING A CHRISTMAS TREE

On December 20, 2022, at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED), students of the STEM class had a session of 'Making a Christmas tree'.

With easy-to-find materials: cardboard, plastic straws, plastic spoons, glue…, students created a pine tree that can be placed in the study corner or used as a Christmas gift.

The session aimed to promote the meticulousness, ingenuity, and creative thinking inherent in students with hearing loss, and at the same time practicing teamwork skills, problem-solving skills and a sense of environmental protection through recycling waste plastic into handmade products.

Also through the session, students learned the meaning of the pine tree: even in the harshest environment, it still had a strong vitality, keeping an eternal green color.

Understanding the meaning of the pine tree and practicing the necessary skills for future social integration path, that were the requirements of the STEM session “Making a Christmas tree”.
