THE CENTER FOR RESEARCH AND EDUCATION OF THE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING (CED)
On July 3rd 2019, The Center of Research and Education for The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) offered a sign language course for an US-oversea student who is in his summer holidays.
On July 4th 2019, The Center of Research and Education for The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) took all CED students to visit General Sciences Library of Ho Chi Minh City on summer vacation.
On July 6th 2019, The Center of Research and Education for The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) held successfully the course of Lip-Reading for 13 participants who were teachers working at special schools for the Deaf and parents of children with hearing loss from different provinces: Long An, An Giang, Khanh Hoa, Ba Ria Vung Tau on July 6th 2019 at CED office. It was about the concept and signification of Lip-Reading, learn about the skills and method to develop lessons of Lip-Reading to their students/children/adults with hearing loss.
On July 12th 2019, there was an outdoor activity for all CED students and staff about seeing Exhibition named “Rain” at Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Organization, 218A Pasteur Street, District 3.
That was the first time CED students went to an exhibition. All students (children and older children) were very excited because they would see the artworks of their drawing teacher. Specially the older ones who really love art.
Then, Teachers and Students had a relax time at the park of April 30th in the city center. They talked, enjoyed candies, played games…
On July 13th 2019, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) held the Hearing Care Program for 68 children, parents and staff of Thao Dan Social Protection Organization.
The Hearing Care Program included: Ears Test, Tympanometry Measurement and Hearing Test. All participants have good ears.
On July 14th 2019, The Center of Research and Education for The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) opened the Basic Sign Language Class of Course 64. There are 21 students who are teachers, students, staff in business, medical,… Specially, there is one ten-years-old pupil participating with his mother.
On July 11th 2019, The Center of Research and Education for The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) welcomed the representative of Crossfield coming from Japan to visit and talk about volunteers issue.
On July 18th 2019, The Center of Research and Education for The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) was recorded and interviewed by VTV3 Television on the program “What is happiness?”
On July 19th 2019, The Center of Research and Education for The Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) greeted the representative of Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh to discuss about support of CED Hearing Test Program.
On July 23rd 2019, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED was invited to share about CED community support activities at “Policy recommendation workshop to promote the adoption of social entrepreneurship among Vietnamese CSOs” held by CSIP in Ha Noi.
Its purpose was about partners’ ideas recommendation: State Management Agency, Social Organization, Social Enterprise, Sponsors and NGOs – of solutions in management and legal rank to promote Social Organizations adoption of social entrepreneurship among Vietnamese CSOs, then gave policy recommendation to State Management Agency.
On July 26th 2019, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh- Director of CED was interviewed for TSI Program (Tech for Social Impacts) held by Microsoft and Vietnet.
On July 27th 2019, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED was invited to share her experiences to Social Organizations who get troubles in small fundraising held by Supporting Social Enterprise Community (SSEC)
CED’s Hearing Aid Fund: donated 5 new hearing aids to total 3 children with hearing loss and disadvantaged condition in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Phuoc.

Consultancy/Peer counseling:
In this month, The Center for Research and Education of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing (CED) conducted 89 cases for consultancy / peer counseling in relation with hearing loss field: education, job, hearing aids, giving advice for parents of children with hearing loss, sign language, lip reading, etc…
