LEARNING ABOUT THE SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT

On February 7, 2023, at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED), students of the STEM class had a session "Learning about the surrounding environment" with the topic "Parts of a tree".

The lesson consists of 2 contents; Theory and practice

- Theory (in class): Through observing pictures of green trees, students were guided to identify roots, stems, and leaves, then one by one they added additional annotations on the picture.

- Practice (in the garden): Under the guidance of the teacher, students learned:

+ Names of the plants and identifying the roots, stems, and leaves of the plants.

+ Recognizing the difference between types of roots (carrot roots in bulbs, spring onion roots in bunches..), between types of leaves (thin bodhi leaves, kim tien leaves and thick leaves of song doi plants, thorns of cactus...), this content would be the basis to explain why the water needs of each tree are different in the next lesson.

Putting the subject 'Learning about the surrounding environment’ into the regular schedule is one of the educational and career-oriented activities at the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED), ensuring the right of children with hearing loss in accessing education and training, as well as helping them form necessary skills for integrating into the community.
