COMMUNITY SUPPORT: GUIDANCE ON UNDERGRADUATE THESIS PROPOSAL

On April 8, 2026, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh—Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED)—provided consultation to a group of students majoring in Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Electronics at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. The students are currently working on their undergraduate thesis project titled: "Design of a Communication Support System for Deaf Individuals in Healthcare Settings."

The students received guidance on the following topics:

- Conceptual analysis to identify and select appropriate communication support systems for deaf individuals.

- Methods for selecting specific vocabulary and sentences relevant to communication within a healthcare environment.

The students were also granted access to CED's resources regarding sign language communication specifically tailored for healthcare settings.
