CED – ORGANIZATION FOR SOCIAL WORK INTERNSHIP
On May 17, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) had an evaluation meeting with two social work students of Faculty of Sociology-Social Work-South East Asian Studies, Ho Chi Minh City Open University; and two volunteers who are a fourth-year student majoring in English language of SaiGon University and a student majoring in Finance and Banking, University of Economics and Law - VNU-HCM
At the meeting, students and volunteers were suggested to share their passion when participating with CED; give comments on improvements of teaching, social work and management activities of CED; share their plans for what will be implemented after the internship/volunteering.
With the mission of supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing people’s inclusion, CED has signed a contract with Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Ton Duc Thang University to receive students for social work internship with people with hearing loss. At CED, students will be instructed in skills to identify the problems of deaf/hard of hearing clients, understand the difficulties they are facing, and solutions CED is implementing through education combined with social work.
