ART CLASS: CREATING A “SUMMER CASTLE” WITH WOOD AND PAPER
On June 11, 2025, the art class at Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) created an exciting and inspiring space for elementary students with the theme “Making Tumbler Toys”. What made it even more special was that these adorable tumbler toys were made from recycled materials like plastic bottle caps, clay, and colored paper.
Under the teacher's guidance, the students transformed plastic bottle caps into the bodies of the tumbler toys. With their skillful hands, they used clay to create a heavy base, helping the tumblers stay balanced and pop back up after every push. The decorating phase truly turned the class into a vibrant festival of colors. Using paper cutting and gluing techniques, the students unleashed their creativity, expressing their unique personalities through each tumbler toy with various shapes, funny expressions, and unique outfits.
