ACTIVITY REPORT - JULY 2023
Part 1: CED activities
- On July 02, 09, 16, 23, 30, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) trained Sign Language - Basic Level for 30 participants of the 73rd course of skills in communication with people with hearing loss.
- On July 4, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) advised families of people with hearing loss on issues related to home ownership and inclusive education.

- On July 07, 2023 Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of CED provided information and comments for the graduation thesis "Voice recognition to support people with disabilities" of a group of 4th-year students at School of Science, Vietnam National University HCMC.
- On July 12, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of CED participated in the survey on "Mobilizing Private Investment for Development in Vietnam" that is in the framework of USAID's INVEST project.
- On July 22, 2023, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) held a farewell party for our volunteer Nguyen Doan BK - a former student of CED.

- On July 25, 2023, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) welcomed Mr. Le Anh Vu, a visiting lecturer in Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ton Duc Thang University and 6 interns participated in the professional practice at CED.

- On July 27, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of CED had a meeting and discussed with Dr. Nguyen Duc Hoang Ha, lecturer at School of Sciences, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City on the topic of scientific research. related to sign language in supporting communication for people with hearing and speech disabilities.
- On July 31, 2023 Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of CED had a meeting to share about the establishment and development of CED with a group of second-year students majoring in Social Work, Ho Chi Minh City Open University.
- July 2023 Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of CED participated in the Doing Good Index 2024 survey conducted by MSD Institute and the Centre for Asian Philanthropy and Society (CAPS).
- CED received:
+ 01 student enrolling in the STEM class.
+ 01 student enrolling in the the summer course for those who attend the inclusive education.
- CED has performed 01 interpretation and notarization support for a family of deaf person as a proxy for inheritance.
Part 2: CED’s Hearing Aid Fund Report
In July 2023, CED’s Hearing Aid Fund granted 01 hearing aids for 01 old woman with hearing loss, as following:

On behalf of the children and their families, the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) would like to express our sincere gratitude to German Lions Foundation for granting the hearing aids and Quang Duc Hearing Aid Service Company for supporting.
CED continues to note of wishes on joining the hearing aids granting program for children with hearing loss in poor families. Parents who have children with hearing loss under 18 years old and want to register for hearing aids, please register at this link:

We would kindly ask family whose children get approved for granting hearing aids to contribute 100.000 VND/hearing aid to the Hearing Aid Fund for children with hearing loss in poor families.

Part 3: Peer Consultation/Counseling
In July, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) conducted 115 consultation/counseling cases on inclusive education for children/people with hearing loss, sign language interpreting at the court, counseling on spoken language development for children with hearing loss, skills for communication with people with hearing loss, legal aids for people with hearing loss, guiding students to practice social work with people with hearing loss, connecting and organizing extracurricular activities for students, job recommendation and connecting, cooperating activities with other organisations.
