Part 1: CED activities

- On February 8, 2022, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) had a new year 2022 meeting that teachers and staff discussed about teaching students for the school year after Tet with following main points:

- On February 12, 2022, CED organized a parent meeting, facilitated by Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of CED. Parents were informed about the CED educational plan in the new semester with modification of learning content toward developing communication skills, reading – writing skills, enhancing online learning skills and vocational orientation for students.

- On February 14, 2022, students of the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) returned back to school after social distancing time. They were very happy because of being able to come to school, seeing teachers and friends.

- On February 15, 16, 17 and 20, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) trained 15 participants who were medical staff in 12 faculties of Tan Hung General Hospital about skills for assisting people with hearing loss in hospital.

- On February 22, 2022, Ms Duong Phuong Hanh – Director of Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) participated in the meeting with the Adult Loss of Hearing Association (ALOHA). The meeting focused on the experiences of handling difficult situation in life, how to listen better, and sharing about assistive hearing devices, …

- February 26, 2022, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) organized the online workshop sharing and discussing about the outcomes of the project “Promoting the initial legal support and implementation of regulations on medical examination and treatment for people with hearing loss (deaf, hard of hearing and deafened)”.

- On Sunday February 27, 2022, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh, Director of Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) consulted students of the project team “Little Dolphin” – a project developed from the subject “Global Citizens” of the Vinschool Central Park Highschool about supporting students with hearing loss in enhancing life skills and social inclusion.

Part 2: CED’s Hearing Aid Fund Report

In January 2022, CED’s Hearing Aid Fund granted 02 hearing aids for 01 child with hearing loss and, as following:

- Nguyen Bao Duy, 05 years old in Binh Thuan (2 hearing aid)

On behalf of the children, CED would like to express our sincere gratitude to German Lions Foundation for granting the hearing aids and Quang Duc Hearing Aid Service Company for supporting.

CED continues to note of wishes on joining the hearing aids granting program for children with hearing loss in poor families. Parents who have children with hearing loss under 18 years old and want to register for hearing aids, please send the audiogram to email: dphanh@trungtamkhiemthinh.org

We would kindly ask family whose children get approved for granting hearing aids to contribute 100.000 VND/hearing aid to the Hearing Aid Fund for children with hearing loss in poor families.

Part 3: Peer Consultation/Counseling

In February, Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) conducted … consultation/counseling cases on education, vocational orientation for students; trainings about skills for assisting people with hearing loss in hospital; Provided Sign language interpreting service at the hospital; trainings on education for children with hearing loss, hearing aids fund, consulting parents having difficulties in raising children with hearing loss, connecting and collaborating with other organizations…
