THE STORY OF A TRANSPARENT MASK

Hello everyone,

I am a transparent mask.

As other masks, I help to protect against dusts, droplet, bacteria... But I have one thing different: I am designed with a transparent plastic piece, surrounded by 2 layers of fabric and has two thin straps. As a result, people with hearing loss do not have problems when communicating because they can still see the other’s mouth easily.

Recently, at the training course on “Skills for assisting people with hearing loss in hospitals” organized by the Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, I was honored to illustrate for the lecture on “Speechreading” of Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh MEd – Director of CED. I am very happy and proud of having another name “the communication supporting tool for people with hearing loss”.

I wish that I will be welcome everywhere, in order to help people with hearing loss in their social inclusion, with shining light, the light of empathy and love from community.
