COMMUNITY SUPPORT

On July 4, 2023, Ms. Duong Phuong Hanh - Director of Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) advised families of people with hearing loss on issues related to home ownership and inclusive education.

The first issue: A deaf person has the inherited house and land ownership and is in danger of losing her inheritance because of her disability. Through using evocative images, Ms. Hanh helped her who could not go to school and did not know Vietnamese sign language, to understand her ownership of a part of the home, and to appoint her two children as her legal representatives to her ownership.

The second issue: A 11-year-old girl studies at a special school, communicates in sign language. Her parents want her to enhance her skills in listening and speaking. Through learning about the causes and time of her hearing loss, her communication at home and in school, Ms. Hanh advised parents on how to communicate with their children at home. She will also attend a summer course at CED.

Parents, teachers, and people who work with people with hearing loss have any desire to find out about issues related to the hearing loss, please contact CED for advice and support. For any information, please call 028 6683 7494 or email info@ced.org.vn
